NOTE TO THE EDITOR
Dear Editor, as I said last time it is difficult to say if this is a personal opinion or media release for it is long. You may feel to use some parts of it for a media statement. I would therefore leave that at your discretion. I would however like this article to appear in full, in which case you may want to put in your editorial column.
This Statement occurs in the wake of events and patterns of behaviour that seriously threaten the consolidation of One Namibia One Nation illusion. At the same time it renders the growth of our democracy susceptible to a total tribal and ethnic fragmentation.

This may rather be a very personal opinion from for it is sturdy and since I believe in straight talk (especially these days) you may want to censor it. Please do!
Calling this article a personal opinion while being in the capacity of Member of Parliament, being Secretary General of the Congress of Democrats (CoD), official opposition Party, may sound incongruous. I am representing a diverse constituency of people. The article, for this time, may concentrate more on the awakening of the horrors of the past. The past now includes the last sixteen years. I however feel that my reaction in this article in provoked by an actuality.

The Congress of Democrats (CoD) came into existence in 1999 as a matter of historic necessity for our country with the aim of advancing further and deepening the struggle for socio-economic emancipation, justice, democracy, equality and economic prosperity for all Namibian citizens and residents.
The CoD is an organization which believes in democratic socialism and popular participation by the citizens in all the affairs of society and its governance. Our aim as a political organization is to establish and build a self-sustaining, model, developmental welfare state in our country in order to uplift the standard of living of our entire people.
We believe –in the short and medium term- in a strong intervertionist state that will eradicate poverty and lift people’ standard of living and ensure access to basic services such as employment opportunities, education, electricity, water, and help the economy grow faster, which will create jobs for the majority of our people.
